Biography

I have been involved in web design and development for the past twelve years. I have completed projects that include the creation of web applications, intranets, extranets, and dynamic websites featuring custom client administration interfaces running off of MySQL and Oracle databases. I have provided total solutions ranging from full front end UI design, to full backend database integration and database design. I produce and maintain many dynamic web sites / applications as well as provide customized hosting solutions for those who need a total and complete web solution.

I became involved in designing websites after working in the printing industry for nine years. I was involved in many areas of screen-printing during that time, including industrial screen-printing and commercial screen-printing for the apparel industry. Working from the ground up allowed me to develop a foundation in a number of areas of the industry such as production design, high-end color separation, and research and development.

I entered the field of Information Technology with the intent of learning more about web design and development. I transfered into the MIS department of Pro Player Sports Apparel, as this was the department in charge of the corporate website. I realized that user interaction and good design go hand in hand and these were features I wanted to deliver to users of the web. I assisted the company in developing its first secure e-commerce B to C online store. The online store was a complete success, resulting in over $4000 in sales within its first month of business.

Following my time with Pro Player, I went on to work for a web design firm, which allowed me to expand my web development skills. I learned new technologies that were cutting edge in the areas of web design, web development, and multimedia. I developed advanced websites and web applications while working there as the Senior Web Designer with three Junior Designers under me. Hired as the team leader I was able to build a strong design team that was able to juggle many advanced projects at the same time in a fast paced work environment.

I have been involved in many different consulting projects, such as children’s books, web portals, multimedia presentations, marketing programs, booth and tradeshow design, user interface design, as well as various IT networking projects.

I am currently employed as Webmaster and Marketing Communications Manager for a reputable software company that develops product lifecycle management software solutions and various types of CAD/CAM software. I am responsible for the corporate website, intranet, customer extranet, and the company’s international websites as over see the company's marketing initiatives.
